--> Lubuntu is ubuntu base build upon lxde.Lxde is very fast compared with much heavier interfaces like gnome and kde.Since lxde is under development you may not stick onto it if you are migrating from the popular gnome 3 or kde.But lxde is really faster than heavy interfaces like gnome 3 or kde.Lubuntu ships with chromium as its default web browser and pidgin as the default chat app.Sylpheed is the email client instead of mozilla's thunderbird.Lubuntu has office tools like abiword and gnumeric which are lighter tools that fits the lxde environment.
