There are hundreds of Linux distros available in the markets.What is the need of these many distros?The answer is each of the linux distros is targeted for different types of user groups like high level programmers,common linux users,students,for servers etc.
--> Like that, an Educational Linux distro is for the people in the educational institutions like students,teachers,administrative officers etc.What should be the characteristic features of an Educational Linux Distro?

This Educational Linux distro is meant for kids aged 3 and up.It is also based on Ubuntu operating system like Ebuntu and is meant for children before elementary life.
I should mention about OLPC here even if it is not a linux distro.OLPC is a project named "One Laptop Per Child" to provide low cost laptops to the growing children in the developing world.They are doing a wonderful job for bringing up the poor children in the developing world with knowledge in computer.The OLPC laptops use Fedora OS with Sugar desktop environment."
