Ubuntu netbook remix wins in the competition with jolicloud.
--> By the 6 months release cycle,ubuntu has become no.1 in the netbook market defeating jolicloud.Ubuntu unity interface has improved a lot from the previous version.Because Ubuntu's desktop edition has moved to the same Unity interface as the netbook edition, starting with Ubuntu 11.04, the netbook edition has been merged into the desktop edition.

    Ubuntu seems like too much of a system hog for a netbook, specially with Unity 3D. I'd look at something more like Lubuntu (which allows you to select the Lubuntu or Lubuntu Netbook session). I'd also look at Peppermint and Joli OS. But, Ubuntu is a hard sell for a netbook. Specially the earlier models, which shipped with XP.
